Is it May already?

The time is sure flying by. HS graduation is coming up on May 22 for Caitie (she graduated in Dec but walking with her class). Then on to ASU in August for her. It's hot out here been in the 103's and just getting hotter. yuck

Well, i have a couple tiny finishes to share, not much really. I have been digging in my WIP basket and just pulling things out to finish. Well, i pulled out Salem Witch by Primitive Needle, stitched on silkweaver's solo using DMC. I think she turned out pretty cute, for a witch. I also finished up a small reindeer ornament from HIH (the pic isn't really good but you at least get the idea).

When the girls were here in April for our GCGC get together we had a little Floss Tag class. A couple of us finished ours up at the cabin and i took Michele's and Sharon's home to finish up for them. Well, i finally got Michele's done (Sharon's is next). Michele stitched "Easter" by LK a limited edition kit this year, over 1. It turned out really cute.

It is my turn to be receiving ornaments for our HO HO HO Ornament Exchange group. I rec'd Nicole's last week or so, just hadn't gotten around to taking pics. So here is the ornament Nicole stitched for me, Pear Tree by LHN on 40ct. It is gorgeous, i love it. Here is also a pic of the goodies she included (note, i already started Free BIrd by Plum Street Samplers on the 40ct fabric she included).

Well, we are waiting for our dog Bailey to have her puppies here anyday now. She was due yesterday the 7th. So we are just sitting back waiting for the little pups to come. Here is a pic of Bailey the other day. She is so miserable and uncomfortable and has been nesting quite a bit so hopefully this weekend. They are kicking like crazy in there, too cool.

Ornament stitching

I have been working on ornaments for friends of ours for our annual christmas party coming up. I have a few done, stitching only. But am making progress. I thought i would share a couple pics with you all.

There is a snowman "snow dude" by Amy Bruecken, that was alot of fun to stitch and finish. I am stitching another one for us. Then there are a couple Lizzie Kate's from previous years JCS ornament issues. And the Norweigan Reindeer from this year's JCS ornie issue (he will be stitched a couple more times as well and I love the fabric for it for the backing). Then there is the Pineapple ornament that i just finished up and donated to my LNS for their annual Breast Cancer Silent Auction that was held last weekend. I also donated the Poinsetta one i stitched in teh below post as well.

It's mid-April and it's already getting hot

Well, it is starting to hit the 90's here in AZ. woohoo, yeah right! Well, DH and I escaped up north the Flagstaff Saturday and returned this afternoon. We went riding the quad around the woods looking for animals (elk and deer preferably no bear or mountain lion). We stayed at the Happy Jack Lodge up there. Nice little cabins. We saw quite a bit of Elk yesterday on our ride and a few turkeys but nothing else, thank goodness. We went riding in his "territory" where the guys all go hunting, deep deep in the woods. I had trouble getting pics of the Elk we saw but i will post one of them, you get to see theirs butts walking by. LOL

Well, as for finishes, i do have one from a couple weeks ago i just never posted. It is JBW's Bunny, again. This time i used the Caron waterlilies Baby Breath that i initially bought for it and used a piece of 28ct evenweave that was tea dyed by Teejay (tracy). It was the perfect fabric for this floss.

Here is my WIP for the LHN/CCN yahoo group SAL. I started Rose Sampler. I haven't gotten very far but it is coming along (i just have too many projects going at once). this one is being stitched on 28ct evenweave in Oatmeal using DMC.

Also, here is my Reindeer Sampler by HIH stitched on 28ct mottled linen (not sure of the color was in my stash not marked) using DMC. You can also see a glimpse of the bag i got at Barnes & Noble last week (thanks for showing me Michele, i love it) I just started this one last night at the cabin. I also have another finish for my Fair & Square exchange but it needs to be mailed in the next couple days so can't show that finish, but it's pretty.

Not much else really going on around here. My DD, Caitie went to the Prom last night with one of her friends, so when she gets her pics I will post them (I didn't get to see her all dressed up). we were out of town and she was at her dad's.

Well, here it is, December. AHHHH! where did all the time go? I can officially say i have started shopping for Christmas (I have 1 thing). LOL I have been trying to finish up a bunch of WIP's, i really want as many as i can get done, finished! I have WAY too many going and need to really cut down on too many projects at once. (i have probably about 25 going)

Here are a couple recent finishes for me. French Sampler Reindeer by JBW designs and a free pattern of a biscournu which i finished yesterday. I will definitely be stitching more biscournu's. that was alot of fun, tedious, but fun to put together. i added a ribbon to make it an ornament but didn't add a button in the middle of this one, i will on my next one.

It should be a very stitchy day here in AZ. We had rain, yes, RAIN, all day yesterday and it looks to be starting again soon. the wind is really kicking up too and the sky is very very dark. it is absolutely wonderful! We never get rain, never, so we just love it when it does and of course we get flooded everywhere. We also do not have sewers(sp) for the rain to go down.
