Chicks Rule!

Well, i went to Market Day at the Attic this past Saturday and got a bunch of new stash but haven't taken a picture yet. I will try tomorrow. BUT, I have finished one of the goodies i bought. Chicks Rule by LK limited edition kit. I decided to stitch this adorable piece on 30ct light purple linen i had in my stash with good ole DMC. I used a satin stitch for their beaks as well. I really really like how it turned out and now to find the perfect backing fabric to make it into a flat fold or pillow, not sure yet.

I rec'd in the mail today the most beautiful biscournu from Marjorie from the Please Pass the Biscournu exchange I am in. This wonderful small will be spending the spring time on my mantle with my other springy stitches. Thank you again Marjorie.

A couple weeks ago I rec'd an old used sewing machine through the freecycle in our area. I just posted that I was looking for a working machine, nothing fancy whatsoever and had a response in just a few minutes and she just lived around the corner from us. I have never sewed and have wanted to learn, especially to help out with finishing pillows, etc (that will take a bit of time until i am totally confident in myself with the machine). LOL But I have had a brief instruction on it and have just dived right in. I found 2 smallish stitched pieces in my closet and made a scissor fob and a little pillow.

The scissor fob is "no frogging allowed" by Stitchy Kitty (i believe, its been awhile since i stitched this one) and i had some really cute froggy material for the backing. The little pillow my daughter Caitie stitched up Boo from Monsters Inc about 5 years ago when she was 12 or 13. So i made this into a little pillow. I really like how they turned out, still have to make my hand sewing a bit cleaner, but its a start. I hand sewed on the cording on both of them.

Valentine finish, exchange rec'd and more

HI all! I have a couple small finishes to show. One is Bee Mine by Barbara Ana, it is a freebie that can be found on www.cyberstitchers.com. this was a quick one night stitch. Behind the finish is the fabric i picked for the backing of it, once i decide how to finish it. I also stitched today this cute little pumpkin BOO! this is also a free design from The Stitcherhood and can be found here www.thestitcherhood.com I stitched this one on a piece of Rust colored linen but the picture doesn't do it justice at all

I was in the Lizzie Kate exchange on the HOE board and my exchange arrived today. It is the cutest little needlebook that Pam stitched for me. I LOVE it! Along with it, Pam sent along LK's Wear a Smile pattern signed by Linda of LK, The Workbaskets frog, swan house chart from my wish list and a chocolate bar that just didn't make it to the picture, but man was it yummy!!!! I had to stick it in the fridge for a bit since it was 80 out today, it was a little melted but not bad at all until my nephew squeezed it. LOL Thank you sooo much Pam!!!

Also i heard that Amy rec'd her mattress pincushion from the MAW board that i stitched for her. It is the JBW bunny and i stitched it over 1 using red Vicki Clayton silks, Amy's favorite, bunnies and red.

I have a couple exchanges that haven't arrived at their new homes yet so will have to wait for those pics for another time.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone! I have a couple Halloween finishes from this past week. Last week i started on tuesday, Halloween Silhouette by Raise the Roof and finished it the next day. I haven't done anything "finishing" wise with it yet, but it is stitched.

This week i started a Pine Mountain Pillow - BOO! new this year. I started this one wednesday and finished yesterday, a very fun quick stitch. This one is stuffed and sitting on the entertainment center already.

Last but not least, I stitched the Quaker Boo freebie from online. I only stitched a portion of the design but started and finished yesterday. This one is already in the frame. I stitched it on 28ct cashel linen Solo from silkweaver using black dmc. I really like how this one turned out and i just happened to have a 5x7 black frame to put it in.

well, that's it for now. Have a great Halloween and don't get too scared! BOO!
