The last of my exchanges have arrived

So the last few of my exchanges have arrived. The first are my ornaments for Chris in our HoHoHo ornament exchange group. Chris was the first to receive ornaments for our group and her only dislike was pink flamingoes. SOOOO, the brat i am i stitched her her ornament then i also stitched a pink flamingo. LOL It turned our really cute and have to stitch him for myself now too. Chris seems to like him too. The other ornament is a quaker but i totally forget the name and don't have the chart right here.

My other exchange (the last of my exchanges for awhile) was the HOE winter quaker exchange. I stitched a freebie quaker snowman i found online but do not remember the site. DUH! I made him into a floss tag. Marie has rec'd her floss tag and really likes it. THey are sooo much fun to make.

Exchanges have landed

So i can share a few of the exchanges i have recently sent out.

I stitched this little ditty for Annette W for the F&S #11. It is perfect for a biscournu, i think.

I signed up on the MAW (make a wish board) to stitch something Prairie Schooler, any design any finish for Simone. So i stitched this Honey Bear (don't recall the name off the top of my head). I stitched him over 1 and made a tin topper out of it. I really like how it turned out and can see myself making more of these.

Also, for the Year Round Prairie Schooler Exchange I stitched USA freebie for Shay. I made this one into a pinkeep.

A finish and exchanges

Well i have a little finish for ME and a couple exchanges rec'd to share. I haven't seen that the exchanges i sent out have been rec'd yet so can't share those.

The weather has been gorgeous here in AZ, in the 80's, dropped to 70's for a couple days and going back up again. Spring Training games are in full swing (LOL) out here in AZ and that means lots of visitors. Baseball season in HS has started as well, so there are freshmen games we have already started going to to watch our son Josh play.

On the stitching front, i am trying to seriously cut down on exchanges for awhile so i can do some stitching for me. I have way too many WIP's/UFO's and really need to get them finished up. i am tired of looking at them in the basket next to my seat. So trying to stitch a bit on everything every day. LOL

Here is the finish for me. It is My Everything by The Sampler Girl. I stitched it on 40ct sand linen using Belle Soie Sister Scarlett. I love this one and am thinking of framing it in a very simple black frame.

well, here is the pinkeep i rec'd from Edgar from the Year Long Prairie Schooler exchange. i just love it and it is already in the basket on my dresser with other exchanges. Thank you Edgar!

Here is the F&S i rec'd from Annette W. here in AZ. I love it but not sure how i am gong to finish this one yet. Thanks Annette!

Hopefully this week i will a few smaller finishes to share from my WIP pile.

SBBC exchange has landed

I can share one of my exchange pieces that i have recently stitched and sent off to Ulla from the SBBC group. Ulla had LHN's Caffe Latte on her wish list, so i chose that chart to stitch for her. I stitched it on some coffee dyed/baked fabric (thought it was appropriate for the theme) and made it into a flat-fold. This was a fun stitch and my 2nd attempt at a flat-fold.

Blog Award

A very special blogging friend passed this award on to me .. thank you Michele. I have really enjoyed our growing friendship .. here's a description of this special friends award:

These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbon's of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these kind writers. When you pass the award along please include these guidelines. I am to choose eight friends to share this with.
I'm sending this award on to eight friends. It's always hard to pick special bloggers to pass this award to ... I have met some wonderful friends over the last couple of years so I'd like to pass this on to Bette, Candi, Chris B., Ruthann, Jill, Cindy F., Susan, CarolynNC. I know a few of you have already been granted this award, but are special to me as well.

Froggy and finishes

Here is a pic of the floral frog i picked up this weekend at an antique shop. I love these little crystal frogs. I have my scissors in this one (my only one as of now, but will be looking for more to start a collection). This is not all my scissors by the way, there are at least 4 or 5 more pair not shown.

I did a bit of finishing this past week and can only show a couple pics right now. When the others arrive i can show others. I can show the scissor fob i sent to Sabine Rose for the Tiny Treasures exchange i was in. I grabbed her pics off the TT blog, as mine didn't come out good at all. I stitched a portion of a freebie from Debbie Draper Designs and then her first initial with her name down the side of the letter on the opposite side of fob.

I also pulled out a couple older pieces i stitched a couple years back for Valentine's Day and "finished" them this week. One is from the Silver Needle's Secret Needle Night kits (don't remember then name) and i finished it into a flat-fold, my first go at this finish. I think it turned out pretty good, it just doesn't fold completely flat. oh well. The other is Hugs N Kisses (don't remember who by) and finished it into a No Sew Cube.

I do have a couple other Valentine's Day pieces to "finish", maybe today i will work on them. Not much else really going on around here, it's been chilly again here after wonderful 70-80 degree weather. But that's ok, we don't want the Heat coming too soon here, will make for a very long hot summer in AZ.

Valentine's Day finish and more

The other day i was looking at Vonna's blog and she stitched this adorable freebie from PrimitiveBettys called Oh Sweet Valentine and i just had to stitch it. It was a very quick stitch that i stitched up on Friday and last night made it into a primitive looking pillow (at least i think so). I stitched this one on 28ct Antique Sand Castle linen using VC Birds Bird Feathers #4107 and WDW Brick.

I also have my only progress on my Beatrix Potter Sampler. I am using 36ct edinburgh coffee dyed/baked fabric for this piece, not too dark of a piece and using GAST Deep Sea. I love how the colors pop on this fabric and just wish the pic would do it more justice. I am stitching this piece over 1 on the 36ct so not alot of progress, a little at a time.

Also i heard that Ellen has rec'd her LK exchange from me on the HOE board. So here is Wear A Smile by LK that i made into a beanbag pillow thingy for her. I changed up the borders using smyrna, rice and eyelet stitches and really like how they turned out.

well, i have a bunch of other finishes but can't show them until they land at their new homes.

Going to get some housecleaning done and then off to a Superbowl Party this afternoon. GO CARDS!!!!!
